Working parents
Desk jobs, farm and dairy work, and lifting kids all day add up. We help with back pain, neck pain and work injuries.
Grandparents and older adults
Gentle care for stiff joints and arthritis so you can keep gardening, traveling and chasing the grandkids.

Kids & Teens
Gentle, Age-Appropriate Care for Kids and Teens
Young patients are not small adults. Their muscles, joints and growth plates are still developing, so care is lighter, shorter and focused on movement. Common reasons parents bring children and teens to see us include:
- Sports strains, bumps and overuse aches
- Neck and back pain from heavy backpacks
- Posture strain from phones, gaming and long study sessions
- Headaches linked to neck and shoulder tension
Dr. Madsen may use instrument-assisted adjustments, soft tissue therapy and simple home exercises, and he explains each step to both parent and child before starting.

Your Visit
What to Expect at Your Family's First Visit
New patients start with a 30-minute exam that covers health history, posture, movement and any recent injuries. Dr. Madsen then explains what he found in plain language and recommends a plan, which may include:
Follow-up visits last about 15 minutes in the same private room. Parents can stay with their children the entire time, and we can often book family members back to back.

Questions
Family Chiropractic FAQs
Answers to the questions parents ask most. Still wondering about something? Call us at (208) 737-1430.
Is chiropractic care safe for kids and teens?
For children and teens, chiropractic care uses much lighter force than adult care, and it is generally well tolerated. Mild soreness for a day is the most common side effect. Care always starts with a health history and exam, and if anything points to a problem that needs medical care, Dr. Madsen will refer you to your pediatrician or family doctor.
What age can my child start chiropractic care?
There is no single starting age. Call us before booking so we can talk through your child's age and concerns. Dr. Madsen will let you know whether an exam here is a good fit or whether your pediatrician should see your child first.
Do I need to come to my child's appointment?
Yes. A parent or guardian should attend visits for patients under 18 and complete the intake paperwork. You are welcome to stay in the private treatment room for the whole visit and ask questions along the way.
Can our whole family be seen on the same day?
Often, yes. Call us at (208) 737-1430 and our front desk will look for back-to-back times so the family can come in together.
Does insurance cover family chiropractic care?
We are out of network with commercial insurance plans. You pay at the visit, and we can submit a claim or give you a superbill so your plan can reimburse you if your policy allows. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. See insurance and billing for details.
What should we bring to the first visit?
Bring a photo ID, any insurance card, a list of current medications and comfortable clothes. For student athletes, a note about their sport and recent injuries helps. Read what to expect on your first visit for more.
